I provide a confidential opportunity for you to explore personal, professional and relational issues.
“Jeanette is everything you could want in a counsellor – kind, open, non-judgemental and professional.”
I work with people from all walks of life. The NHS entrusts me to take care of the wellbeing of their front-line staff, from hospital workers to health visitors, nurses to trainee doctors, midwives to mental health practitioners. So I am experienced in dealing with the effects of trauma, stress and anxiety.
I will support you in coping with the difficulties you are experiencing and to help you bring about the changes you want. My role is to assist you in this process with empathy and without judgement, creating a counsellor-client relationship based on mutual trust and openness.

I will listen carefully and share my understanding, but won’t tell you what you should do. I will draw on my range of professional and personal knowledge and experience, and I may, on occasion, give information or offer suggestions to increase insight into your situation. We may, if you wish, set goals for you to work towards.
“Jeanette treats each and every client as an individual, never simply applying a way of working with someone but instead integrates all her knowledge and skills to provide a holistic and tailored approach.”
Although my practice is mainly based on ‘talking therapy’, when I feel it might be helpful, I offer other creative ways of exploration (for example, through the use of poetry, picture cards, drawing/painting, stones and other symbolic objects).
“I found Jeanette’s approach to counselling really worked well for me. She plays an active rather than passive role… She worked very intuitively with where I was at.”
If at any time I feel that I can no longer help you, I will be honest about this with you and, if appropriate, suggest other professionals who may be able to assist.
Please note that the counselling I provide is not a crisis service. In such an event you can call your GP, the Samaritans or emergency services, if that is appropriate.
